The Immigrant Writers on Immigrant Writing Series
Eligibility: Established and mid-career immigrant authors
1. Each year, Black Lawrence Press will invite up to three established or mid-career immigrant authors to contribute to the series.
2. Established and mid-career authors living in the U.S. who identify as immigrants and who either (i) were born in another country, (ii) have at least one parent who was born in another country (iii) are refugees, or (iv) live in the United States under Asylum or a Protection Program, such as TPS or DACA, will be considered for the series.
3. Only solicited manuscripts will be considered for the series.
4. Writers and artists working in other media, who are either immigrants or whose works explore the immigrant experience will be considered for the series.
5. Writers and artists living outside of the United States who are either immigrants or whose works explore the immigrant experience will be considered for the series.
6. Works in English or English translation will be considered for the series.
